2023 is in the final act, with the curtains now beginning to close. Soon we will be popping champagne, and raising a toast (more likely prosecco, have you seen the price of champagne these days?) with fireworks lighting up the skies around us and Auld Lang Syne being terribly recited by us all. As we welcome 2024, a year we hope will bring us all good fortune and good health, we wanted to reflect on what has been a wonderful year at Academy Care.
A 'Good' Rating from the CQC: A Testament to Excellence
The obvious place to start is with the biggest news of the year. In June, we received the wonderful news that Academy Care has been awarded a 'Good' rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This achievement reflects the outstanding commitment, compassion, and professionalism demonstrated by our dedicated team. We believe in providing the highest standard of care, and this recognition reaffirms that we are on the right path.
It has been a long and arduous journey to achieve this rating, with hundreds of wonderful, and hard-working care professionals donning our uniform over the past four years, an office team that has put blood, sweat, tears and many a long night into the growth of the company, and a senior management team who have dedicated their lives into growing and improving every aspect of the company. Academy Care is nothing without the people who work here, we aren’t just a place of work, we are a community.
ISO Certifications: Setting the Standard for Quality, Security, and Sustainability
In addition to our CQC success, Academy Care has achieved ISO 9001, ISO 27001, and ISO 14001 certifications. These internationally recognized standards highlight our commitment to delivering exceptional care, ensuring the highest levels of information security, and embracing environmentally responsible practices. We believe that meeting these standards not only sets us apart but also reinforces our dedication to excellence in every aspect of our operations.
Expanding Our Reach: Welcoming New Communities
Academy Care is excited to announce our expansion into Barnsley, Doncaster, Huddersfield, Leeds, Lincoln, Sheffield, Rotherham, and York. This expansion is a significant milestone in our journey, allowing us to extend our quality care services to even more individuals and families in need. We are grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of those in these communities. More news will come in the new year about our expansion, but our priority will always be that our high standards set in the Wakefield branch, will never be compromised. We can’t wait to grow our community and hopefully see branches open across the UK in the coming years. It would be awesome to see the Academy Care logo wherever you go in the country.

Something to look forward to in the new year, is that we will be having our inaugural Academy Care Awards ceremony. It was supposed to happen in December but due to scheduling issues we struggled to make it happen. This will be an opportunity to celebrate and appreciate all our team, there will be trophies and prizes, with the big award being ‘Care Professional of the Year 2023’. We are excited to host as many of you as possible for what promises to be a wonderful few hours of celebration.
2024 will also mark the 5-year anniversary of Academy Care, something we are sure will be a very special time for us all.

Academy Care, are a domiciliary care company, providing support to individuals whom for reasons of ill health or disability, could benefit from long or short-term domiciliary care services in the comfort and familiar surroundings of their own home. Our highly trained, passionate carers, support people daily in their own homes, to optimise both their independence and wellbeing.
We create tailored care plans to meet the needs of all our clients, working with the client, their family and any medical or social services to ensure that the client gets the very best care for them. We also continuously monitor these care plans to ensure that they are up to date with the needs of the client, as needs can change very quickly.
We will work with you, the client’s family to deliver the care, helping to ensure that everyone involved is happy with the care being provided and that the client’s needs are being met through our service.
