Academy Care Ltd stands with Ukraine

How is UNICEF helping children and families?

UNICEF is working around the clock with partners to scale up life-saving programs for children.

Inside Ukraine, UNICEF and partners have:

Distributed life-saving health and medical supplies for nearly 2.1 million children and families in war-affected areas.
Reached 6,500 vulnerable households, including children with disabilities or three or more children, with multi-purpose cash assistance.
Helped more than 2.1 million people access safe water in areas where networks have been damaged or destroyed.
Helped more than 288,000 children through the provision of learning supplies.
Assisted 52,000 children through case management and referral services.

In countries hosting Ukrainian refugees, UNICEF has:

Supported national, municipal, and local systems that deliver essential services and protection, particularly for the most vulnerable children, including through anti-trafficking training for border guards; expanding learning opportunities and integrating refugee children into schools; procuring vaccines and medical supplies; and establishing play and learning hubs that provide young children with a much-needed sense of normalcy and respite.
Worked with UNHCR and partners to activate Blue Dot hubs – one-stop safe spaces for children and women. Blue Dots provide key information to traveling families, helps to identify unaccompanied and separated children, and ensures their protection.

Being a member of staff at Academy Care Ltd gives some fantastic benefits, more important than any of our staff benefits - right now. Our staff can use our partnership with Perkbox to donate to the UNICEFs movement in supporting humanitarian aid for families and children affected by what is happening in Ukraine right now.

By pledging the application in-app currency, they can donate £1.00 up to £100.00. As a company, we have asked that all our care workers, administrators, and managers donate their month's allowance to UNICEF and help bring the devastation Ukraine is feeling to an end.

To help in this small way, the office teams have and will be contacting all the community care and support workers and instructing them on how to complete the donation steps.

Further to this cause a donation will be made to charities that support Ukraine, equal to that of what the staff have donated.
